What a weekend...

We had a great one! Hope you did too. Dinner and shopping with the girls on Friday night. Sad I didn't get any pictures! The Market was fun.. got a few Christmas presents and it was a fun girls night out.

Saturday was a crazy day for college football. Auburn beat Arkansas 65 to 43. What a score! The highest scoring game in SEC football in non overtime. I can't remember the last time I've seen a score like that. Cam Newton is the bomb and he is amazing to watch. Such a good guy too. I just love him. Our plans changed at the last minute and we ended up not going down to the game.. sad about that but we're gonna head down in November. I can't believe Kentucky beat South Carolina.. crazy.. and South Carolina just beat Alabama last week and we beat Kentucky.. so crazy to me..but, I guess you never can predict whose gonna win these games. Auburn moved up to number 4 in the BCS poll! War Eagle!

We went down to the lake today to see the new construction going on.. it is a mess! Dad finally contracted some guys out to do the hard parts and it looks so different already and we still have a long way to go. Now, we're waiting on the rest of the roof and then there gonna come back and finish it up. It's gonna be a work in progress for a while now.. hopefully by next summer it will be ready! Here's a few pictures...
The new porch/living area

This is going to be the screened in porch on the side..

The side..
I'm looking forward to a photography class I'm starting tomorrow night. I hope I learn a lot about how to work my camera... I do need some pointers! Maybe I'll be able to share a few.

Have a great week!

I just love this..

This quote is from Rick Warren, author of Purpose Driven Life. When I read it, it just really hit home, so I thought I would share.

Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
Every moment, THANK GOD.

This is going to be my motto in life. I just think it is so real. We have so much to be thankful for and I hope you will thank God, trust him, praise him, seek him and worship Him. I know he has everything under control. =) Thank you God!! It's almost Friday! Yippee! Hope you've had a super week! Can't wait for the weekend!

Weekend Highlights..

We had a great one.. hope you did too. Friday night, Jamie and I had a date night. I can't remember the last time we had been out to eat. So, it was nice treat. During football season, we just don't go out much. But, Friday night Jamie got home early and we went to eat at one of our favorite places, Ragtime. Love that place. And, then I got to finally try a one of these.

A Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks.. Yum!! It was even better than I thought it would be and I know I'll be back for more! If you have not tried one..do! I promise you won't be disappointed!!

Saturday, I did the race for the cure. It was an awesome experience with over 16,000 people in attendance. Wow! We had 32 people on our team and we raised over $1,000 for breast cancer. Isn't that great?
I can't even describe the feeling you get when you are crammed in with all those people about to run. You look around and see so many signs that say In Memory of or In Celebration Of and it just brings tears to your eyes. I always love this race.. it is just so near and dear to my heart. My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor and then my two friends, Rashel and Melissa. It was just an h0nor to run for them. Love you girls!

We were greeted by our govenor, Bob Riley at the finish line.

Yeah! We did it!!

Love this picture!
Saturday afternoon was an eventful day/night in college football Wow! Alabama lost and Auburn pulled out a win.. barely but at least they did! Thank goodness. So excited we moved up in the polls and I can't wait for our game on Saturday. Jamie and I will be down on the plains watching as we play Arkansas and I hope we don't bring the tigers bad luck for being there. =)

Sunday we went to church and then to Home Depot to get some mums. I just love them and I got a few pumpkins too. They just make me smile when I come home in the afternoons.

Hope you have a great week!

Helena Turns Pink

Today was pink day at school in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month and in honor of a sweet co-worker survivor, Melissa. We had shirts made that said, Helena Turns Pink for all the staff to buy. The kids were encouraged to wear pink too and it was a fun day! My sweet friend, Melanie decorated around Melissa's desk with these precious pink pom-poms.

How cute are those?
Melissa's room mom had shirts made for her entire class to wear and surprised her this morning. It was so sweet!

The shirts say.. we are tickled pink for Mrs. Jarrell

I love these two ladies... Melanie and Melissa!

I can remember back 1 year ago, when sweet Melissa was diagnosed with this disease. She has been such a trooper during these past few months. She has overcome so much -surgeries, and more surgeries but now she has her "girls" back and she looks great! Just this past week she even got her tattoos! =) She keeps on joking all of us that she will show anyone that wants to see. ha! I am just so thankful for her and honored to have walked beside her on this journey to watch what the Lord has done in her life. She is a true testimony for all and I am blessed to know her! Tomorrow is the race for the cure and a bunch of the teachers will be running/walking in honor of her. We love you sweet Melissa!!
Most of the kindergarten teachers.. a few were missing.
Happy Friday!

Be Encouraged..

Wow! Sometimes you can really feel the Lord speaking to you in different ways and today was one of those days. The message at church was Be Encouraged and it was just what I needed to hear so I thought I would share a little. It even went hand in hand with my bible study lesson for the week and was taken right from John. I think the Lord was really speaking to me... twice! Pastor Buddy made 3 key points in his lesson today that I thought were really great:

1. Joy overcomes sorrow - "Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. " John 16:20

2. Love overcomes seperation- "For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God." John 16:27
God is with us and will give us strength. His strength is all we need.

3. Peace overcomes struggle- "Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But, take heart, I have overcome the world." John 16: 33
Jesus is our peace who has overcome the world. It all comes back to these three things:
joy, love and peace that are only found in Him.

What an amazing God we serve knowing that He always has our best interests at heart. Even when it is hard to see or understand and we are constantly asking, "Why?" At times we may think God is mean for not giving us what we are begging for, but we don't realize that He has a higher mercy. As Beth Moore would say, " We want a Holy Enabler. God wants to be our Healer."

God is not going to give you anything that He can't handle! I just love this.
I have definitely been encouraged this week and new things lie ahead this week for us in our infertility journey. I go back to the doctor and Wednesday and we will go from there. Please keep me in your prayers on Wednesday. =) But for now, I am encouraged and reminded of these powerful verses in Scripture.

Psalm 46:10: "Be still and know that I am God."
Romans 5:3-5 " And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;perseverance, character, and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us."

I hope you all have a great week and will be encouraged! =)

On another note..I am ready to run for Race for the Cure next weekend. I finally got me some new shoes and I am loving them. They have motivated me to get outside in this beautiful
weather and run! What a great stress reliever too.

I also had a fun date night with my best bud from college, Shelly. We had a great time shopping, and eating and catching up. I truly believe that good friends are like rare stones. They are just hard to find and I am lucky to have some of the best ones. This girl just gets me from the inside out and I just love her!

Friends are precious gifts from God. Love you friend!
