He is Risen Indeed!

I hope you all had a great Easter. Mom and dad were both out of town so we had a low key Easter with church, lunch, and even celebrating Cassie's 1st b'day!  It was a busy day! The kids had fun swimming, eating and hunting eggs.
Sweet baby Cassie

Her precious "trash" cake

She wasn't too sure about it.

But she got the hang of it and loved it!

Birthdays and Bunko...

My sweet daddy's birthday was last Tuesday and we all celebrated with dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  It was yummy!  I took my camera and forgot to take any pictures.  So, this is an old one.
Happy 63rd birthday daddy! I love you very much and am so very blessed and thankful to have you in my life.  You are the the best daddy ever and I admire so much about you.  I can't wait for Burkleigh to meet her Pops!
Last Thursday, I hosted Bunko at my house for our teacher bunko group.  We had a fun time hanging out together and even dancing to Just Dance 2 on the Wii.  I just love all my fun teacher friends.  I'm gonna miss ya'll next year!

32 weeks..

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along: 32 weeks..only 8 more to go.

Size of baby: Baby H is 4 lbs and is 19 inches long.  My what to expect book says she has been able to suck her thumb for a while now.  I wonder if she will be a thumb sucker like her mama was and so was Chase and Hannah Rose.  I guess we'll see...

Total weight gain/loss: I am up 16 pounds.  I gained 6 lbs in a month.
Maternity clothes: Definitely wearing the pants.. some of my shirts are maternity and some are just regular.
I think I'm gonna be living in dresses and skirts this spring/summer. They seem to be the most comfortable.

Gender: You are a GIRL!! BURKLEIGH ANN

Movement: She is constantly moving... all throughout the day and at night. I love every minute of it!  It's neat to see my belly move when she does move. You can defnitly see it through my clothes.. amazing!!

Sleep: I sleep okay but I wake up with my back hurting and I find myself on my back more than usual.  I have always been a side sleeper so I don't miss sleeping on my stomach but it is getting harder to get comfortable and I wake up a lot!
Cravings: Nothing too crazy...back to icee's, and ice cream.  I am beginning to feel like I am running out of room for food.
What I miss: Not one thing!

Symptoms: Back pain, pressure, some heartburn, leg cramps, so far no stretch marks so we'll see!

Best moment this week: We are almost done with the nursery!! I will post pics soon!  I had a friend paint 3 canvas' to match her bedding with her initals on them and they turned out absolutely adorable!  She also painted us a window pane with my favorite scripture on it and I love it too! I skipped my 31 week post because I was not feeling good.  When I went to the doctor, he  loaded me up with meds but I only took the Z-pack and I can tell that it has helped.  I am finally beginning to feel a little better.  Now I am beginning to go to the doctor every 2 weeks so I'll go back again this week!  Time is flying!

Happy Birthday Shelly!

Last Friday, my bestie turned 33!  Wow!  That's hard to type..  Mine is just around the corner and I can't believe we are really getting that old.  Time flies!  I first met Shelly back in '96 when we were freshmen in college going through sorority rush.  At the time, I had no idea that we would become sorority sisters and life long friends that had so much in common and so many connections with friends and family.  Seriously, it's just crazy.. I could write another blog post about that.  But, 15 years later we are still the best of buds and I am so blessed to call her a friend.  We've shared lots of great memories together.. too many to name, but some of the best times at sorority parties, mixers, formals, meetings, Rush, girls trips, late night stalking (do you remember that shelly), fraternity parties dating fraternity brothers (oh my!), shopping, Purple Onion, education classes, boys, projects, teaching together and many more fun times!  We've been together through weddings and babies and Shelly was there for me through all the men in my life!  ha!  I will never forget all our fun times together and I look forward to the next chapter when our kids get to play together. Even though mine will be alot younger.  =)

It's so neat to see how God works in your life and truly brings friends in your life that become life long friends.  I am so thankful for all those friends and many of whom I have met at work!  Even though I won't be at work next year, I know those friends will continue to be a part of my life just like Shelly has been.  I thank God for friends like this!  Happy Birthday Shelly. I had fun celebrating with you!  I love you and Burkleigh can't wait to meet her Aunt Shelly!  We love you!!
Fun friends.. Sherry and Shelly
I promise she didn't eat these all by herself.. they sure were delicious!!

weekend happenings..

This past weekend.. it was gorgeous and oh so hot!! It felt more like summer than spring.  I went to the Mt. Laurel festival on Saturday and finally got to go shop at Favorite Laundry.  One of my best friends works there and they have the cutest children things and I just have not gotten to go over there.  The store is precious and I could have bought so much more than I did but I had to get a few things. I will definitly be
 going back!
These are the softest little outfits..by Featherbaby.
It's hard to tell in the pic..but it has pink ric rac around the edges. I got the onsie, hat, bib and blanket.
Can't wait for mom to add her name to it.  So sweet!

Love this brand too.. Magnolia Baby.. so soft!

While I was out shopping, Jamie went with our friend, Diane to do Bromberg's Diamond Dash scavenger hunt.  They were on bikes going all throughout the city looking for clues to get points to win a $15,000 diamond ring.  Too bad they didn't win but came in about 10th place in about 300 couples.  Not bad at all but no prizes.. I guess there is always next year.  They were both troopers and hung in there in the heat of the day.  I know it was hard work and I'm not sure I could have done it.  Jamie was exhausted to say the least.. Diane, I don't know how you do it all!

Saturday night we went over to my brother in law and sis n law's for dinner. I didn't take any pictures but we had a fun night together.  They are pregnant and due in Sept and I can't wait for Burkleigh to have a cousin nearby to play with.  We'll find out in 2 weeks if its a boy or girl. I can't wait.  I think its a boy!  We'll see..

Hope you all had a great weekend and your week is off to a great start.
Be back soon!

Best moment this week:  I took a breastfeeding class at the hospital last week and met a really sweet girl who also teaches in Shelby Co. I hope we can keep in touch after our little girls are here.  The class was good..  but  I still have a lot of  questions when it comes to breastfeeding.  I am just praying it won't be that bad and I can stick with it.   We are getting really anxious and excited to meet our sweet girl. Time is really flying by and it won't be long.  I wonder who she will look like?  Can't wait to hold her!

Symptoms: Just back pain and lots of pressure!

Best moment this week:  We had a busy weekend and Jamie did some yard work around here while mom and I got to run around and try and finish up the nursery.  I am still on the lookout for a small white table to put by her chair and I can't wait to see the artwork for the walls pretty soon.  Mom and I went to Mom's Market on Sunday and it was a lot of fun.  I saw lots of  people and got some good stuff too.  My parents also went ahead and bought our stroller for us.  I couldn't make up  my mind to save my life but I'm happy with the one we ended up with.  I got the City Mini by Baby Jogger and I love that it is a one hand fold.  That was what sold me for sure.  All you do is pull one little strap and boom it folds up so easily and it's lightweight, cute, stylish and pushes great!  I didn't want to do a travel system and I've heard nothing but great things about these strollers so we'll see.  I really do love it and if our next child is a boy.. yes, I will get another stroller.  =)  If you know me well at all, you know I am a total pink girl so I had to have the pink one!  Thanks Mimi and Pops!
