What's on your DVR?

I am a HUGE reality tv fan. No surprise to anyone that knows me well. Some of my favorites right now are:
Bachelor Pad
Big Brother...Lane, Brittany and Hayden are my favs..can't wait to see who wins!
Teen Mom
Keeping up with the Kardashians
Kate plus 8
Real Housewives of New Jersey
These are pretty much on my DVR right now and I love them all. I am a sucker for a good ole juicy show. I know..crazy. But its entertaining! I am so ready for fall TV too. I LOVE this show.. don't you?
Can't wait for the new season to start as well as DWTS. But, I must say last night's cast did not get me very excited. Seriously.. David Hasseloff, Bristol Palin (when did she become a star), the Situation, Florence Henderson. I was a little disappointed but I'm sure I'll still watch.
I also wanted to tell you about a new show that started last night that I am loving. It's called Quints by Surprise and it comes on TLC. Did you see it?
How cute are they?
Last night was the premiere. But another new episode is airing tonight too.. so set your DVR. It is about a precious couple, Ethan and Casey who live in Texas. They were high school sweethearts and conceived their first little girl, Elliot through IUI. They decided they wanted one more baby and did IUI one more time and ended up with quints. WOW! All I was thinking was.. what if that is me? Oh my.. I just can't think about that. I know God won't give us more than we can handle but I'm still just praying for one! =) Although my mom said if that happens to us, maybe we can get our own tv show. =) Ha! But, you'll definitly want to tune in. They are just a sweet family. They also have a blog you can read about here.
So..what's on your DVR? What are some of your favorite shows? I would love to hear if I am missing out on anything good!

A relaxing weekend..

Just what I needed. On Saturday we went to the pool for our last hoo rah of the summer. It was a gorgeous day..and I didn't think I needed sunscreen. Bad mistake.. I got fried! Oh well.. might as well go out with a bang for the end of summer. I am so ready for fall weather and football. Bring on them Tigers! War Eagle!!

My friend, Jan came to hang out at the pool with us.
Saturday night, Jamie and I went on a date night and then went to hang out with friends at Shane and Erin's house. We had a great time! Can't wait to do this more often for football!

Fun friends..
And.. who knew Dairy Queen had these?

Aren't they cute? Mini blizzards.. and the strawberry golden oreo is my favorite. Yum! So good!
And..this picture just cracks me up. I walked into the living room to find this. Our big ole chocolate lab laying on Jamie. Ha! He is such a big baby!

**One last thing.. A shout out to my awesome parents.. today is their 40th wedding anniversary. Wow! What a true example they are of love and faith. I love them dearly! They are such inspirations to me and I am blessed to have them as my parents. XOXO

Change is a good thing..

It's not too late.. I hope you all had a great day. My doctors appointment went really well on Monday. I was a little nervous about leaving my kiddos on day 8 but I knew they were in good hands. I stayed till 11:30 and then met my mom to have lunch at Newt's. Such a nice treat! Had to go pay my $164.00 ticket that I got last month for driving with an expired tag.. really?? So, who knew they didn't forward mail when you move? Yep.. me and I do not keep up with the month my tag is to be renewed... but, I can tell you I will now. Ridiculous.. is all I can say.. money down the drain. And, to Mountain Brook of all people.. they don't need the money! But, enough about my soap box. I met with Dr. Steinkampf that afternoon and was very encouraged. He talked to me for a long time and we came up with a plan for the next few months. I sure hope it works. =) I have complete faith in him that he knows his stuff and will take good care of me. He was highly recommended by several friends too. So, the plan is to try IUI in September.. hope it works and if not, in October I will have surgery to see if I have any endometrosis. I'm praying I don't and all goes well in September. So, we'll see and continue to pray each day! I can't wait to be a mommy and I'm excited to see what exciting things are coming our way!

Here we go again..

Ugh!! I cannot seem to get well. First, I got walking pneumonia. Seriously.. who gets that in the summer time? I don't think I ever really got over it and then I came down with a nasty head cold. Sneezing, watery itchy eyes, nose running like crazy. It worried me since I was just diagnosed with the pneumonia 2 weeks ago. So, back to the doc in a box I go on Saturday morning. Not fun.. may I add. This time, he tells me I have a bacterial infection. My white blood count was low. So, I got 2 more shots.. really. I just had those a few weeks ago and I about passed out. Not sure what happened, but when the nurse gave them to me I felt them go into my muscle like I've never felt before. My knees went week and I felt dizzy and nauseus. They made me lay down for a bit. I was sweeting like crazy.. geez! Why does this always happen to me right when I go back to work. I told Jamie, I just need to stay at home so I don't get sick! =) Wouldn't that be nice. I hope to feel better soon. I'm worried about taking all this medicine since we are still trying to get pregnant. I hope it will be okay. I just want to feel better!

But, I did make something yummy to cheer me up. A delicious fruit pizza. I'll share the recipe and it was oh so yummy! You will want to make it for sure.

Crust: one can of sugar cookie dough-bake this first and let it cool.
Topping: 8oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp. milk
Mix together and spread on top of cookie dough once cooled.
Then, add all your fruit. I used strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and grapes.
This makes one pizza. Cut into squares and eat.
Hubby even liked it!

I'm bummed that we didn't get to do too much this weekend. But, thats okay too. Tomorrow, I have appointment with a new fertilty doctor and I am excited to see what his plan is for us. I know our time is coming... it is just hard to wait. Sometimes, I wonder why the Lord surrounds you with so many people who seem to get pregnant so easily and then others who just have to struggle. I know the end result will be all worth it. It has just been a difficult week for me with lots going on and heartache too. I'm so thankful for my sweet hubby. He truly is the best and I couldn't have made it this far without him. Thank you to all my sweet friends who provide such encouragement to me. It means the world and I love you all very dearly. I know God hears our prayers and is waiting for that perfect timing.. I just hope it will be here soon!

It was my birthday..

Yesterday was my birthday and it was the first day of school! The big 32 and I must say this was the first time ever that school has started on my actual birthday. It was a crazy day but we all survived, made it home in one piece, no one cried, no one had any accidents, I didn't lose anyone and we all had fun so I guess that means it was a good day! I always look forward to the first day to see all the kids in their new outfits, new shoes, backpacks, lunchboxes, haircuts. It is just so fun! I love seeing my former kiddos and seeing how much they have changed too. They do grow up fast. I'm looking forward to getting to know all 21 of my little kindergarteners this year. I think we have a good group. They were so sweet to me yesterday telling me happy birthday all day long and one mom even surprised me with an Auburn cookie cake. It was yummy! Last night, we went to dinner at Lucia's with my parents and had some yummy strawberry cake too. It was delicious..and my super sweet SIL suprised me with a cheesecake factory cake that was oh so yummy too. So, I have definitely eaten good the past few days. =)

Doesn't that look scrumptious?
Hubby suprised me with a new pair of jeans. Just what I wanted.. so, thanks babe! I got lots of sweet cards, emails, and facebook messages that made my day even more special. The best one was from my sweet niece singing me happy birthday on my voicemail. It was so dang cute.. I had to save it in case I need a pick me up one day. I love that child!
Jamie has been off work all week so it's been nice to come home and not have to worry about dinner every night. I told him that was his thing this week and he has done a good job everynight. One less thing to have to worry about at the beginning of school. It's been a crazy week. Looking forward to celebrating with friends and family this weekend!

Hannah turns 4

Today is my precious niece, Hannah Rose birthday. I can't believe she is already four. I hate I wasn't able to make the trip up for her party! That is definitly one of the down sides to living 8 hours away..=( I know they had a blast at her Dora party and I know she loved her ABC book that I made for her. If you would like to see how cute it turned out, you can click on the shutterfly link below. I was very pleased with how it turned out. We love you so much birthday girl. You add so much joy and love to our lives and you fill us with so many laughs and smiles. I love to watch you read your books, play pretend, play dress up and have tea parties (you love that), and see that little brain of yours working. You are a smart little girl with a spunky personality. You have no idea how much we love you!! You are a joy to our lives. We love you so much, Hannah Rose Burkhardt and we can't wait to watch you grow up.

Happy Birthday Hannah Rose

Bad News Friday..

Well..it's official, I have walking pneumonia! =(( I've had this awful, lingering deep cough now for about 2 weeks. I have been taking mucinex and robitussin, but last night just did me in. I couldn't sleep. It got worse in the night and stuff was draining down my throat, it was awful. I went to the doc in a box this am and that's what he said. And, yes, school starts Monday for me. I hope I feel better by then. Why is it that I manage to be fine all summer and then right when I have to go back to work I get sick. Hmm..why is that? Please say a little prayer for me this weekend to feel better! I have 20 little babies relying on me next week! =)

And, my sweet nurse friend, Shannon lost her mother this morning. Such a sad story. She was a young and beautiful lady who was loved by soo many around her. Please keep Shannon and her family in your prayers as they face a tough road ahead of them.

And while you are praying for me and my friend.. please say a prayer for all teachers out there who are about to begin a new year. =) Ready or not, here it comes!!

A week's worth of fun..part 2

On Wednesday, we took the kids to the McWane Center. They loved it! Chase loved petting the sharks and playing with the big light bright pegs. Hanah loved the Mr. Potato Head exhibit and playing in the store. That was right up her alley. We had a great time!

On Thursday, we went to Walmart and bought some new toys. Nanny had given the kids some money when they were here. We played Uno Attack, polly pockets, DS and of course we swam! We went to the shop and got some new outfits and went out to lunch. Carter finally learned to walk. He still is a little wobbly but I'm so glad we got to see him do it. He would get so excited and just laugh the whole time. He is such a sweet baby!

I love my Hannah girl!
What a cutie pie
Starting to walk...
And he's off...
On Friday, I took the kids to Treetop Adventure while mom and Carter man stayed home. We had a blast! They got to bowl, play games, play in the treehouse, play putt putt, and ride go carts. Chase is a lucky thing. He won 100 tickets in one try on one of the games and then he won 75 the next time. He loved watching all those tickets come pouring out of the machine. Hannah loved the treehouse and riding go carts. That night, Pops and daddy came home from the lake. They had been there all week re-modeling the bathroom. Chad took pictures and it looks amazing.. can't wait to see it!

Saturday it was time to pack up and head out. We had a super fun week and it flew by. Chase spent the night at our house all by 1 night and Hannah Rose spent one night with us. We had an absolute awesome time and I just love those kiddos to death. Lots of fun memories were made and I look forward to making many more. Aunt Katy and Uncle Jamie love you all very very much!! We loved having you here! Please come back! xoxo
