Life Lately..

I'm going to try and play catch up from last week and the weekend. We are enjoying the nice weather and being outside.  B loves to color with sidewalk chalk and play in the yard.  She is such an outside girl.  LOVES all of it! Her new thing is to sit in her little chair and watch for daddy to come home.  She says about a million times" Where" and throws her hands out.  When a car comes down and its not Jamie she says "no" in her little southern draw.  She makes us laugh all the time!

*Mom is teaching me how to run her embroidary machine and we've been sewing some cute things for the girls.
*I'm hooked on these crystal light flavors.  They are so yummy.
*We had a play date with our cousin Reagan, last week.

* We had a play date with my sweet friend Colleen and Finn and then went out to lunch at the depot.

*Sister was procrastinating bedtime and playing in her hairbows, sissy's pacis, and my sunglasses.
She is a mess!
* The girls wore their matching outfits to gymboree last week.  Their first of many matching outfits.  LOVE!
*Sweet Maggie is smiling so much now and talking like crazy.  She wakes up so happy and I just love all her sweet smiling faces.

*Friday night, the Fredericks came over for dinner and the girls played.  They are such sweet friends.  I can't believe this is their last week in Birmingham.  Next week, they leave for Dallas so we are getting as much play time with them in this week since we won't see them again for a LONG time.  =(( soo sad!!
*Sunday I had a Matilda Jane party at my house.  It was a lot of fun!  The girls got some precious little outfits too.  They are all set for spring/summer!  I'm ready for the warm weather to stay!  Yay!

My sweet girls! Love them so!

My sweet nanny..

I haven't talked about it much on here but my sweet nanny fell and broke her hip in the beginning of February.  Since then, life has been a lot different for my family.  She has been in and out of the hospital since then having surgery, rehab and then pneumonia.  It's been rough on her and everyone.
She is just the sweetest little old lady too and it breaks my heart to see her like this and "wanting to die".
For now she is in a little assisted living/rehab place and my mom goes and takes care of her everyday.
She's getting stronger each day and hopefully with time she will be able to walk some and go back to her home.  But for now, she is in the right place.  I took the girls up to visit her when Maggie was about 3 weeks old and we haven't been back since.  So, yesterday we went back to visit her.  I think it helped to lift her spirits and despite the fact that she is skin and bones (she's always been skinny) she did look really well and seemed to be in good spirits.  Please keep my sweet nanny and family in your prayers.

Birthday Fun..

Last Monday was my bestie's b'day and we got to spend the whole day just hanging out.  It was so much fun!  =)  We went shopping, had lunch, and yummy popsicles.  So thankful for her and our friendship.  We've been friends now since our freshman year in college, 1996 so it's been 17 years! Wow that seems like forever!
My sweet dad's b'day was also on Friday of last week and the girls sent him these pictures.
We are so thankful for him and so blessed to have him in our lives.

We celebrated dad's birthday on Saturday with lunch at CPK and then we went to Aldridge gardens for some outside fun. It was a pretty day and we all enjoyed being out in the sunshine.

It was a fun week!  We love you both Aunt Shelly and Pops!

Burkleigh Ann is 22 months old..

Wow! Time needs to slow down. Can't believe my little girl will be 2 in just 2 months.  But, I have to say each stage of toddlerhood gets better and better.. except the tantrums.  =(  Those seem to happen around here at least once a day.  If everyone says three is worse, wow.. I'm gonna be in for it. You've already hit the "terrible twos"

I'm not sure of your stats.  I have no clue how much you weigh or how tall you are.  You haven't been to the dr. in months and that is a good thing!  Thank goodness for my healthy child.  We're not ones to frequent the pediatrician these days.  You go back at 2 years so we'll find out then your stats.
You are beginning to talk more these days.. yay!  You say no mama, where is it, what dat, more, book, i know i know, sissy, mimi, dada, pop, milk, ball, night night, side for outside, knee, bye bye, what, where(and you throw those hands out), dat (as you point to what you want), yes, no, hey.

You are a funny little girl.  You constantly make us laugh.  When I ask you if you need clean pants, you always so "no, no" and wave your little hand at me.
YOu love to climb.  Recently you turned your PB chair into a jungle gym.  You turned it upside down and started climbing up and sliding/jumping off  of it.  You are a little dare devil.

You have gotten several little boo-boos on your knees because you have no fear and end up getting hurt but you usually don't cry.  YOu are a tough girl.
You did chip on of your front teeth though and I hate to say it but I really don't know how it happened. =(  You've had a little black eye too from playing so rough with your cousins.

You LOVE your sissy and she loves you too.  You entertain her and she just watches and watches you.
You are on a good little schedule.  You sleep from 8:30-9 pm to 8:30-9am and then go down for a nap around 1-2 and will sleep for about 2 1/2-3 hours.  You have decided you want everything in your bed with you.  You have two little pillows, a blanket, 2 bunny lovies, another lovie, several stuffed animals, a baby and sometimes you want to take your books to bed too.

You Love your books and your favorites right now are: Goodnight Moon, Eric Carle's ABC book, Sleepy baby, In Grandma's Arms, I Love You.  We pretty much have to read them all before bedtime and you like for mommy to put you to bed.
You LOVE to be outside and want to go outside every day and you would live out there if we could.  Sometimes you have a meltdown if its time to come in and you're not ready.

You wake up most days saying "bye bye mommie" and you want to get in the car.  So, we usually go somewhere in the am.  You still love gymboree and go every Wednesday morning and sometimes we go on Fridays too.
You are doing this funny thing now when I walk out of a room and you don't know where I am you will say in this sweetest little voice, Ma-ma"  (like where did you go) until I tell you where I am.

You are a curious little thing and you don't miss a thing.  You love your name puzzle and know B and M for Burkleigh and Maggie.

You are a pretty good eater too but you love snacks and could snacks all day.

You are loving to color and you have finally learned to not eat the crayons.  =)

YOu love your sweet friend, Lily.  I'm so sad that in just a few weeks they will be moving to Dallas and it will be a long time before we see each other again.  =( tears, tears!!

Spring Fling Fun..

A few weekends ago, my school had their annual Spring Fling weekend.
The weather was so nice that weekend and B loves anything that involves outside so after her nap that Saturday we decided to go for a bit.  Most of the rides were those carnival type rides and she is too little for that but she loved just walking around and watching, playing on the playground, and fishing with daddy.  That was the only game she really played.  It was so good to see some of my sweet teacher friends and I know B will love going to this every year.
Miss Hollywood all ready to go..

Fun on the playground
That was her prize from the fishing game..

Fishing with daddy!

Maggie Charles is 2 months old..

Maggie Charles you are 2 months old!
You are a sweet sweet baby!!
You weigh 11 lbs. 2 oz. and you are 21' long.
Burkleigh was 10 lbs 8 oz. and 22 3/4' long.
You wear size 1 diapers.
You are in 0-3 month clothes but I still love for you to wear your little gowns too.
Those are my favorite things!  They are so soft and sweet.
YOu love to watch your big sissy and she loves to talk to you.
You just stare at her and smile.  Its too sweet.
You are cooing and oohing some. Love those little baby sounds.
You are a sweet, sweet baby during the day and then at night the "witching" hour begins and you will scream and scream.  I keep telling myself, "this too shall pass"
You are on reflux meds like sissy was and we've had to adjust that so thankfully I think you are beginning to make improvements on the new medicine and I also swapped bottles to see if that would help too and I think it has.  You aren't near as fussy at night as you used to be.
You took your first stroller ride without your car seat and of course you loved it.
You love to be outside like sissy did.
You are drinking about 3-4 oz of formula (the expensive kind) every 2-3 hours.
Lately, you've wanted to eat more.. growth spurt I guess.
I am trying my best to follow the moms on call schedule for 0-3 months old and a toddler and you are doing pretty well.  Nighttime seems to be the hardest part..whew!
Your last feeding is usually around 7-8 and you will sleep anywhere from midnight-3 am.
You usually just get up once in the night around 2-3 am and then again between 6-7am.
You try to talk to your little friends on your bouncy and swat at them.
You love your paci and that helps to calm you down.
You do pretty good in the car too and I'm so thankful for that.
Sissy was not the best car rider.. =(
You have been out to lunch several times with mommy and we took you out to dinner too.
You were a little fussy but you did pretty good.
YOu are smiling some but of course not in any pictures.
You love for me to hold you and rock you.
You have started to like your swing and you LOVE your rock n play.
Thank goodness for that!  It is a must have for sure.
You still sleep in that at night in our room.
Maybe next month, I'll move you to your room.
You have to sleep elevated just like B did so laying down flat in your crib just won't work for now.

Here's the comparison to Burkleigh at 2 months:
Burkleigh looks bigger, but really Maggie is.  I see some resemblance but not a lot.
B looks just like her daddy and Maggie looks just like me!
What do you think?

Happy 2 months sweet girl.  We love you so!
