Pregnancy Highlights
How far along: 28 weeks-the 7th month- I made it to the third trimester! woo hoo!  Only 12 more to go!

Size of baby: Baby H is 2 1/2lbs and is 16 inches long.

Total weight gain/loss: I am up 10 pounds.

Maternity clothes: Definitely wearing the pants.. some of my shirts are maternity and some are just regular.
The last time I wore this shirt, I was telling Jamie we were pregnant.  I don't think I can wear it much longer!
Gender: You are a GIRL!! BURKLEIGH ANN HALEY

Movement: You move all the time and it is so reassuring to know all is okay in there. I am a worrier and I love this trimester because of all the movement. You move around all day and it is the neatest feeling ever!

Sleep: Okay..not that great but I"m getting used to it.  I wake up a lot and can't go back to sleep.. I guess my body is getting me ready for whats to come.   Even on the weekends, I have a hard time sleeping in.  My mind is racing.
Cravings: Its funny how I never really craved weird things but if I see a commercial of something on TV that looks yummy.. I get it stuck in my head and continue to want it until I finally get it. =) Weird.. sonic cherry limeaide slushy.. yum! =)

What I miss: Not one thing!

Symptoms: Just back pain and lots of pressure!

Best moment this week: I found a precious ABC canvas for the nursery.  I was wanting something like this and coudn't really find it but I saw this one and Ithought it was cute.  I  think I'm going to get it framed too.  Jamie hung the chandelier this weekend and it looks so good in there. Can't wait to meet our little girl!

27 weeks, the dreaded test and the lake..

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along: 27 weeks-

Size of baby: Baby H is over 2 lbs and is 15 inches long.. wow thats a big difference from last week. I can tell she is getting bigger!

Total weight gain/loss: I am up 10 pounds.
Maternity clothes: Definitely wearing the pants.. some of my shirts are maternity and some are just regular.

Gender: You are a GIRL!! BURKLEIGH ANN HALEY

Movement:  You move all the time and it is so reassuring to know all is okay in there.  I am a worrier and I love this trimester because of all the movement.  You move around all day and it is the neatest feeling ever!
Sleep: Pretty good! My lower back has really been hurting lately.. making it uncomfortable to sleep some at night. I have pillows all over but it still hurts.  I guess that is just part of it.  Any suggestions?

Cravings: Its funny how I never really craved weird things but if I see a commercial of something on TV that looks yummy.. I get it stuck in my head and continue to want it until I finally get it.  =) Weird.. sonic cherry limeaide slushy.. yum!  =)
What I miss: Not one thing!

Symptoms: Just back pain..

Best moment this week:  Last Friday, I took the dreaded glucose test and... I PASSED!!! Woo Hoo! That was pretty awful. It made me feel tingly, shaky and later I got real sweaty.  =(  But, thankfully I don't have to go back and do it again. We left the dr. and went to eat lunch at Flip Burger.  It was yummy!  I also finally decided on curtains for the nursery and they are up.  It makes the room look so different already.  The chandelier should be here on Thursday and I can't wait to get it in there.  My goal is to have her room done by the end of April.  We'll see!  =)

The Lake Renovation is a work in progress and it's coming along really well.  My sweet daddy has been doing most of the work himself so we went down this weekend to help some.. well..not me but Jamie.  =)
They finished the priming, did the painting, finished the cabinets, (mom and I put the kitchen back together) and then started laying the floor.  Dad finished it up on Monday so the floor is all down!  Woo hoo.  We are still waiting on the granite guy to come do the countertops and we have to install the sink.  I guess we'll be moving the furniture down there soon.  Can't wait to see it when its all done.

The back of the house looking towards the water.
The right side of the house..the wood part is going to be a screened in porch.

One side of the new cabinets

One side of the kitchen.  The other side is going to have a bar type island.

More cabinets

The main area.. its one big room now. It used to be one room and then a screened in porch on the front.  They knocked out the wall and made it one big room so now it will be the living room and kitchen.
Love the big windows overlooking the water.

The walls are a light yellow and here is the beginning of the floor.

I still can't believe dad is doing all this.  We have had the lake house for 25 years and boy, could you tell. Everything in the house was outdated and most of the stuff was there when we bought it.  Good grief..it was old!  It's gonna look like a new house when its all said and done and I know we are going to enjoy it a lot this summer!

Spring Break 2011..

We had a blast at the beach.  We decided to step out of our comfort zone and go somewhere new this time.  We always go to Orange Beach and this time we went to Destin.  I must say.. it wasn't the same.  We had a a great time.. don't get me wrong.  But, I missed our all time favorite restauraunts, shops, and even the drive.  Who knew it was mostly back roads the whole time and of course, I had to stop a million times to go to the bathroom in the dirtiest and nastiest bathrooms. Yuck!  But, anyway... it was a great LAST trip as a family of two and I'm glad we had that time to spend together.  Jamie rarely is off the same time as I am, so it was nice to be able to get away for a few days.  We had great weather the whole time!  Got lots of sun.. I was red after day one!  We stayed at the Sandestin Beach Resort  in the Village.  We could walk to shops, and restaurants which was really nice if you didn't want to leave the resort. The Village has a lot of fun things to do and see.. especially if you have kids but the negative to that place is.. it is NOT on the beach.  If you are beach people like we are, then it's not the place for you.  Yes..they do have a trolley and I'm sure in the summer it runs all the time.  However, that was not the case for us.  It didn't even start until 3pm everyday.. so, needless to say we didn't get to see much of those pretty white beaches that I LOVE so much!  It is definitlely a great family and kid place.. if your kids are older and need to be entertained.  There was a ton to do but not necessarily the greatest place for us.  I loved it but I don't think we'll be going back.  The restarurants were just okay.. but I did love that Rum Runners was a piano bar at night time.  So, we went there several nights after dinner.  It wasn't too crowded.. which was nice and we were able to just relax, and enjoy ourselves before our sweet baby girl comes.  =)  The beach is my absolute favorite.. I could seriously move there in the summer time and I was sad to leave.  I guess the next time we make the trip down, we will be a family of 3.  Can't wait to take Burkleigh. I know she will love it!  We are off to the lake this weekend and I can't wait to see what it looks like now. Dad has been re-modeling it since September and he and Jamie have some projects to work on.  So, I'll be supervising and soaking up the sun!
The view of the pool outside our balcony
The view from the marina

We enjoyed the walking trails..
26 weeks..

Dinner at the Red Bar.. love that place!

Right now..

* I am soo thankful it is Spring Break!  Woo hoo! I am ready for the beach, sun, shopping and good food with the hubby.  Can't wait!

*I am ready for this chandelier to come in so I can see what it looks like in person.  I love it and I know it will add just the extra touch in Burkleigh's room.
*I am thinking about decorating ideas for baby girl's room. My mind is racing..can you tell?

*I can't wait to add the final touches to the wall and get the curtains hung.  We've decided to do 3 canvas pieces above her crib with her initials.  I am having a local artist paint them to match her bed and I can't wait to see how they turn out.  She is also going to do a cute window pane to go above her changing table. Some of the openings will have paintings and some will have a place to put pictures.  I think it will be precious.

*I'm thinking about diaper bags. I love these Skip Hop bags.  Any more good recommendations for diaper bags?  I am a one bag girl.  So, the simplier the better. That's why I love these.  THey look like a cute purse and you don't have to carry two bags.

*I'm thinking about these cute letter blocks and how I can get crafty and make them.  =)  I love the idea of her name being somewhere in the room so I thought about making some of these and putting them on a little shelf.  Can't be too hard, can it?

*I'm thinking about rugs.. I need to find one to put in her room.  Suggestions?

*I'm thinking I only have 14 more weeks till we meet our precious baby girl.  How exciting is that!

*I'm thinking I really wish I could have a big tall margarita right now but I'll settle for a  virgin strawberry diaquari instead.. hmm...

*I'm thinking how much our lives are going to change in the next 3 months.  I can't wait to experience it all!

*I'm thinking how excited I am for my brother in law and sister in law who are expecting their first little one in September. Burkleigh and her cousin will only be 3 months apart.  Who knows.. by this time next year, I might have 2 little ones at my house!  =)

*I'm thinking how precious Burkleigh is going to look in this gown that I got in the mail today from Kelly's Kids.  It's a cotton daygown and it is oh, so soft and sweet.  I'm in love!

*Of course, I'm thinking about food.. so, we're off to get dinner!

What are you thinking right now?

A little bit of this and that..

We've had a busy week and I'm so glad this is our last week of school before spring break! I think we are all  ready for a much needed break! We are headed down to Destin and I hope the weather turns out nice.  Can't wait to have our last getaway as a family of two!
*Last week at school, we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday and all of the teachers wore these precious shirts. We were things 1-14 and we celebrated with a birthday party, a readers theatre, and the teachers doing the "tooty ta."  It was a fun day for sure!
Me and burkleigh.. 24 weeks
My favorite teacher friends and my hallway buddies!  Love them!

My sweet class.. we made these cute t-shirts!

*I went to my first Matilda Jane clothing party and I bought these cute pants! I thought they would be great lounging pants for before and after baby comes!
When Burkleigh gets a little older, I  look forward to buying her some things from there. They have precious clothes for children. Then, I went to Buy Buy Baby with a sweet friend, Jenifer to help me finish my registry.

*This weekend was Cottontails and mom and I went on Saturday.  It was a lot of fun and we got baby girl some cute things.  My favorite is this precious Easter basket with her name on it.  I just love it!

I also went to another clothing sale, My Little Lollipop and managed to only walk away with one outfit.  It is a precious smocked bubble from Three Mama's and I can't wait to see her in it.  Next year, it will be fun to  go and shop when I know more about what size to buy!

*This week, I am going to a Notably You party and I love their stuff too!  I can tell  having a little girl is going to make me go broke!  =) I just love all the cute things and can't wait for her to wear them all!

Hope you all have a great week!!
