B walks..
B is walking! This little video cracks me up...excuse all the stuff on our floor and in case you are wondering B is holding on tight to two little q-tips.. She wouldn't put them down. But, she was so proud of herself. Look out world.. we have a walker!
This and That..
We haven't been doing too much lately. It is SO HOT here and oh my goodness it's getting unbearable already!! Geez...so we are thinking of indoor things we can do. B has been loving watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. This picture cracks me up. She LOVES Barney and Wheel of Fortune too. We watch wheel most every night and she will just clap and clap. I didn't think I would ever let my child watch the purple dinosaur but let me tell you she is mesmorized by him. Mickey Mouse doesn't keep her attention like Barney does and they do sing some good songs despite the dreadful "I Love You..." She will go sit in here chair and watch and then end up in front of the tv breaking her neck. ha!
*B had her 1 year checkup last week. She weighs 19.6 (35th percentlile) and is 29 1/2" long (75th percentile) She got 4 more shots and was not a happy camper but other than that she did great! She now has 6 teeth and Dr. Andy told us to start brushing our teeth. She has a little toothbrush but of course she wanted mine. * Last week, we had a little play date with my niece Reagan (9 mo) and the girls had a good time playing together. B was too funny ..she pushed Reagan on this little toy all over the place. I got a good little video. So glad the girls are getting to the age where they can actually play with each other.
*Jamie played in a golf tournament on Saturday so B and I had a little lunch date at our favorite place. Yum!
*I had a GNO with some of my favorite mommy friends and we had the BEST time! Dinner at Cocina and then on to Cheesecake for dessert. It was the perfect night!
* Little bit has been loving her little chair. Too cute!
* This is a picture on her first and last day of mothers day out. Yep.. you heard that right.. Little one is just not ready to be away from mommy just yet and it was a rough day for both of us. =( I decided to take her out for the summer.. it was only 6 weeks anyway and we'll try again in the fall when she's a little older and will hopefully do better. I just couldn't take it and since I will be going back to work in the fall I just want her with me as much as I can this summer. So, we'll keep doing playgroups, music, and we joined a new class at gymboree last week. Such a fun little play place too.
* Love this little picture. She's been having fun playing with some of her new toys from her b'day. Her aunt Melissa and uncle Jay and reagan gave her this little play house and she loves to crawl through it, push the door, open the windows, play the music and of course throw the balls. =)
*We also got our yard landscaped last week before the b'day party. It was just dull and boring and now it looks so much better. They planted 20 knock out rose bushes along the back of the fence and then on the side planted some other little bushes..don't know what they are called and 2 crepe myrtle trees. They also added some more grass and it looks a lot better! I had before pictures but they all got erased from my memory card. So, here's the after.
That's about all that we've been doing around here.. hope you are all staying cool!

Burkleigh Ann's 1st birthday party
We had a blast at Burkleigh's first birthday party. What a super special and fun day! There is just something about turning one. We had the party at our house and the kids loved playing out in the backyard. We kept it fairly small since B still does not do well around a lot of people. She is still in that phase. She won't let many people hold her either so we tried to keep it at simple as we could and it was perfect! I've been planning in my head this party for months now so it was so fun to see it all come together.
Her theme was cupcakes and her invites were just perfect. The ladies from Sweet Birdies Nest did the invitations, cupcake toppers, water bottle labels, cup labels, party favor stickers and thank you cards. They turned out precious and if you haven't used them before you totally should. This was the first time I had used them and now they are my go to girls. Loved working with them! The colors were hot pink, light pink and lime green. Of course we have a ton of pictures so I'm going to do two posts. This one will be mostly the decorations. Before I start.. a BIG thank you to my momma and sweet friend Shelly for helping me with all of it! Couldn't have done it without both of ya'll!!

The precious cupcake cake that a girl in town made. She also made the cupcake cookies that were favors and Burkleigh's smash cake. But, I dropped the smash cake the day before the party and hated to call her and get her to make me a new one so PuBlix came to the rescue and did her one. I was so sad.. it was too cute!
The precious sign I ordered from NatKat designs. Love it!
The new smash cake with the precious cupcake toppers and sign from Sweet Birdies Nest.
I decided that every birthday I want the guests to sign a birthday book for Burkleigh. This year since the them was cupcakes, her book was Pinkalicious.
Decorations in the living room. I also bought a helium tank and we had lots of balloons in the ceiling! That was definitely the way to go.
The monthly picture banner!
Party favors.. cupcake cookies and bubbles!
The precious cookies.. and they were delish!
The yummy food table
We had chicken salad sandwiches, pimento cheese sandwiches, chicken nuggets from CFA, fruit skewers, pasta salad, cheetos, baked potato dip, cupcakes, cake and of course ice cream!
The candy table on my kitchen island. Pink and green sixlet candies with rock candy and suckers, pink and green laffy taffys, pink and green jolly ranches, and pink and green marshmellows.
We had cherry limeade punch which tasted juts like sonic's. I will be making it again for sure! We also had tea and water. We didn't get a picture of the water bottle labels but they were too cute.
The labels on the cups were so cute and the polka dot straws were from etsy.
The balloon wreath that I made thanks to pinterest. The cake in the middle was her birthday hat but she hates anything on her head so I stuck it here.
The precious ribbon skirt that my mom made for the birthday girl. One of my favorite things!
Pictures from Burkleigh's first birthday shoot. We did family pics too.
It was a great day.. be back for part 2 later! =)
